Citrus Bowl Odds: LSU vs. Purdue Boilermakers

LSU-14.5 (-110)-600Over 56 (-110)
Purdue+14.5 (-110)+430Under 56 (-110)

*Odds as of Dec. 29, via Caesars Sportsbook

The Tigers have been the clear favorite in the Citrus Bowl since odds opened in early December. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, this line was originally LSU -6.5 with a total set at 61.5.

Both teams have lost key pieces due to draft declarations, the transfer portal, and injury. Purdue’s roster, however, isn’t as deep as LSU’s which is why we’ve seen the spread hammered to 14.5.

On the season, Purdue has the 27th-worst record against the spread at 5-8, covering in only 38.5% of its games. LSU has been better against the spread but is still only average, going 7-6 ATS.

Purdue has found themselves as the underdog in seven games, going 3-4 ATS. The Boilermakers have been double-digit underdogs just once, which came in the Big 10 championship where they failed to cover the 15.5-point spread.

LSU has been the favorite seven times this year, going 3-4. In games where LSU has been double-digit favorites, however, the Tigers are 3-1 with the lone loss against Texas A&M.

When it comes to point totals, both teams have favored the over. LSU’s games have hit the over in 7 of 13 contests, while Purdue is 8-5.
