The New Orleans Saints are back in action when they take on the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football (ESPN, 8:15 p.m. ET). As with any NFL game, there are many options when it comes to betting. Player props can be a fun way to dive into the betting market. Let’s take a look at some Saints Week 7 betting props for Monday night’s matchup.
Quarterback Props
When it comes to quarterback props, total passing yards is a fairly common wager on most sportsbooks. New Orleans quarterback Jameis Winston and Seattle quarterback Geno Smith have similar passing yardage totals in this matchup. On DraftKings, Winston’s total is listed at 205.5 yards (OV -115, UN -115). Smith’s total is 206.5 yards (OV -115, UN -115).
Winston’s total is the same on FanDuel, while Smith’s is slightly higher at 207.5 (OV -114, UN -114).
After not exceeding more than 150 passing yards in each of his first three games, Winston has thrown for 226 and 279 yards in his last two contests. Head coach Sean Payton has eased Winston into the starting role, not asking too much of him.
It will be interesting to see what the Saints’ game plan will be. While Payton has stuck to rather conservative play-calling with Winston, he could opt to let the gunslinger loose.
That could be because few passing defenses have been worse than Seattle’s. The Seahawks are allowing 292.3 passing yards per game, which ranks 28th out of 32 teams.
Coming off a bye week, the Saints have had an extra week to prepare for this one. The odds are that Payton has an effective game plan in mind, and Winston should have some success.
Consider backing the OVER on Winston’s 205.5 total passing yards prop.
