The New Orleans Saints take on the Carolina Panthers in an NFC South showdown on Sunday afternoon (3:25 CT, FOX). Both teams enter this contest looking to get back on track.
The Saints (7-8 SU, 7-8 ATS) are coming off a 20-3 loss to the Dolphins, while the Panthers (5-10 SU, 5-10 ATS) have lost five games in a row.
The Panthers are out of playoff contention, but the Saints are hanging on to playoff hopes. They’ll need to take care of business against Carolina in order to have a chance to play in the postseason. Most sportsbooks list the Saints as a favorite of a shade under a touchdown and a low total.

Point Spread Analysis And Pick
The Panthers have been far from perfect this season, but it’s hard to lay nearly a touchdown with the Saints right now.
New Orleans is still dealing with some injuries and COVID-related problems, and while they should be in better shape than last week, they still may not be at full strength. The offense has been shaky at best, as the Saints have scored 17 points or fewer in 4 of their last 5 games.
For whatever reason, the Saints have not had much success at home. New Orleans is just 1-5 SU at the Superdome, and the lone win was all the way back in Week 8. Since then, the Saints have lost 4 straight home games by 2, 25, 10, and 17 points.
Overall, it’s tough to lay this many points with the Saints. Divisional games are never easy, and seeing a blowout from either team would be a bit surprising.
Take the Panthers +6.5.

Over/Under Analysis And Pick
The Saints were rather short-handed last week against the Dolphins. New Orleans had 22 players on the COVID/reserve list. Not surprisingly, they struggled to put points on the board. While they should be healthier in this one, it would be somewhat surprising if the Saints had a big offensive day.
New Orleans has struggled to score points in recent weeks. In fact, the Saints have scored 12 points in their last two games.
The Panthers have not been much better. Carolina scored six points last week against Tampa Bay and has managed a measly 18.5 points per game so far this season.
New Orleans has been relying on its defense for most of the season, and that unit is playing well right now. The Saints have allowed 29 points over their last three games.
Neither offense warrants much confidence, so consider taking the UNDER 38.5.
