Saints Vs Dolphins Week 16 Player Props Featuring Alvin Kamara, Ian Book, And Jaylen Waddle

After a two-game road trip, the New Orleans Saints are back at home as they host the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football (7:15 p.m. CT, ESPN).

After dropping five straight games, the Saints now have some momentum with back-to-back wins. New Orleans took down Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9-0 on Sunday night in its most recent game.

However, whatever momentum the Saints had may have dissipated, as a handful of notable starters will be unavailable in this one. Those unable to play include QB Trevor Siemian, QB Taysom Hill, S Malcolm Jenkins, LB Demario Davis, and RT Ryan Ramczyk.

Even with the depleted roster, there are still plenty of player props and TD scorer bets to consider for this Monday night matchup. Let’s take a closer look at some of the best betting options:

Saints RB Alvin Kamara Over 56.5 rushing yards (-110) *FanDuel

The New Orleans offense is very depleted right now. Starting at quarterback will be fourth-stringer Ian Book, and this will be his NFL debut. With the inexperience and uncertainty surrounding Book, Alvin Kamara could see plenty of touches. Kamara ran for 120 yards on 27 carries two weeks ago against the Jets, but totaled just 18 rushing yards on 11 carries last week against the Buccaneers. That was a game in which neither team could generate much on offense, but Kamara may be in a better spot tonight. He has eclipsed this total in six of his 10 games this season, and with a rookie QB making his pro debut, head coach Sean Payton may lean on Kamara a little more than usual. All in all, this is a very attainable total for Kamara, and he should see plenty of chances.

Saints QB Ian Book Under 184.5 passing yards (-110) *DraftKings

As mentioned, Book will be making his NFL debut tonight. Not only that, but he is doing it in primetime on Monday Night Football against a team that is riding a 6-game winning streak. That is not exactly ideal. Book went 30-5 as a starter at Notre Dame but struggled against tougher defenses. The Dolphin defense is playing with a ton of confidence right now, and it should be able to give the young gunslinger some problems. Miami loves to bring exotic blitzes to confuse even veteran quarterbacks, so Book may have a tough time adjusting tonight. In addition, Payton could opt for a more conservative game plan with plenty of rushes and short throws. That limits the potential for Book to exceed this total. Back the under with his passing yards prop on DraftKings.

Saints QB Ian Book Under 0.5 passing TDs (+142) *FanDuel

Going along with Book staying under 184.5 passing yards, another solid bet is for him to stay under 0.5 passing touchdowns. All of the same thinking applies with this one: Book is making his pro debut against a tough defense that brings exotic blitz packages. Moving the ball down the field and finding the end zone may be tough for New Orleans. It’s not like the New Orleans offense was setting the world on fire with Siemian and Hill at QB either. The Saints managed just 212 total yards of offense and nine points last week against the Buccaneers. The +142 odds present tremendous value, so consider placing a bet on Book to stay under 0.5 passing touchdowns.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle Over 62.5 receiving yards (-110) *DraftKings

Jaylen Waddle has developed strong chemistry with Miami QB Tua Tagovailoa. Perhaps that is because they played together at Alabama. Over his last three games, Waddle has hauled in eight, nine, and nine catches for 65, 137, and 90 yards. He has seen double-digit targets in five of his last eight games and has seen at least eight targets in all but one game during that stretch. The ball is headed his way a lot lately, and the Saints will be without a number of defensive starters tonight. Those unavailable include S Malcolm Jenkins, LB Kaden Elliss, DL Jalyn Holmes, DL Christian Ringo, and LB Demario Davis. Tagovailoa should have time to operate in the pocket, and Waddle should see plenty of targets. All of this bodes well for an over on Waddle’s receiving yards prop.

Touchdown Props

Touchdown props are another fun way to get in on the betting action. Who do you think will score a touchdown? Who do you think will score the first touchdown of the game? Do you think someone will score two touchdowns? All of these options are available to bet on using most notable sportsbooks.

The chart below shows the current touchdown market for tonight’s matchup on FanDuel Sportsbook.
