DraftKings Sportsbook Opens At Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge

Looking to enjoy the Final Four, but don’t have a ticket to watch in person in New Orleans? Do you crave watching the games with fans? If so, you can do that at the new DraftKings Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge.

No, it’s not a permanent sportsbook, but that’s of little concern at the moment. And the ongoing construction includes building a permanent location for DraftKings’ sportsbook.

For now, though, Louisiana sports betting fans looking to wager in person can do just that. DraftKings’ sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge features three over-the-counter sports betting ticket cages, building upon the in-person experience.

If the cages are busy, or you’re too busy watching the games to dabble in small talk, the sportsbook also features 20 self-service kiosks. So you’re covered no matter how you prefer placing your bets.

DraftKings Sportsbook At Hollywood Casino A First Step

DraftKings Sportsbook looks to build upon the surge of sports betting interest since Louisiana sports betting apps launched in late January.

“The temporary DraftKings Sportsbook at Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge will provide customers with new, exciting ways to enjoy this historic property, and we’re thrilled our expanded DraftKings partnership will offer guests their premier sports betting technology,” said Terry Downey, president, and CEO of CQ Holding Company, Inc.

“We believe this temporary DraftKings Sportsbook space will lay the foundation for one of the most engaging sports viewing environments, which will be further elevated upon the opening of the proposed permanent DraftKings Sportsbook next year.”

Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge marks the second time CQ Holding Company, Inc., has partnered with DraftKings on a sportsbook. The initial partnership launched DraftKings at Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Ill.

Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge is a riverboat casino docked on the Mississippi River. It currently offers approximately 27,000 square feet of gaming space with 859 gaming machines and 12 table games.

The ongoing construction is for an expansion of 38,000 square feet. Plans include moving the casino operations to land. In addition, they’re increasing its footprint to 100,000 square feet. That includes the permanent location for DraftKings Sportsbook and new dining offerings.

“We’re excited to expand our DraftKings footprint in Louisiana, showcasing our commitment to the region with the opening of our second retail sportsbook space,” said Michael Kibort, senior director of retail sportsbooks at DraftKings. “Through our collaboration with CQ Holding Company, Inc. and Hollywood Casino, we look forward to revolutionizing the sports betting experience while providing sports fans with an outstanding entertainment facility in Baton Rouge.”
