BetMGM Special Gives 16-To-1 Odds on Saints or Pelicans Winning Championship

Sports fans in Louisiana know they have two good teams in the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans. But are they good enough to contend for the championship in their respective league?

Better yet, will they be good enough to warrant betting on either to win their league’s title?

If you are thinking “maybe,” BetMGM Louisiana is running a special – the BetMGM Title Town Special – that may turn that “maybe” into a “yes.”

BetMGM Louisiana’s Big Easy Title Town Special

Rather than bet on the Saints to win the Super Bowl or the Pelicans to win the NBA Finals next season, fans can take this bet at BetMGM: Saints to win Super Bowl 57 or Pelicans to win 22/23 NBA Finals at +1600.

So, if you decide to put $100 down and Jameis Winston manages to lead the Saints to a Super Bowl win, you can win $1,600! But should the Saints not make it to the Super Bowl, or are defeated, you aren’t a loser (yet). You have another shot— the Pelicans. Should Zion Williamson lead the team to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history and win, you also win.

But, of course, the million-dollar question is this — does either have a realistic shot at winning a championship next year?

Saints a Longshot to Win Super Bowl 57

Despite injuries to key personnel, the Saints were a good team in 2021, but that does not mean they will be a Super Bowl contender in 2022. It doesn’t help that longtime head coach Sean Payton retired at the end of last season. But by promoting defensive coordinator Dennis Allen to head coach and retaining offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr., the team may not miss a beat.

Winston looked good in the six games he started and finished without much to work with. This season he’ll have Michael Thomas coming back along with Jarvis Landry and rookie Chris Olave. Factor in Alvin Kamara, and the Saints may have one of the most underrated offenses in the NFL.

Should the offense live up to its potential and the defense remain a top-five unit (scoring), the Saints have a solid shot at winning the Super Bowl. Losing Kamara to a suspension will hurt, but the team is talented enough to win games without him.

BetMGM Louisiana has the Saints listed at +4000 to win Super Bowl 57, which gives them an implied probability of 2.44%.

Pelicans Also a Longshot to Win NBA Finals

As for the Pelicans, the bones are there for a potential playoff team. How far they go and whether they can win it all will depend on the continued growth of Zion Williamson and, of course, his health. He played in 61 games last season and has played in only 85 during his two years in the league.

Should he stay healthy, the roster around him is talented enough for the Pelicans to make things interesting in 2022. Brandon Ingram led the team in scoring last season with 27 points/game, and Jonas Valanciunas led in rebounds (14.3/game) while chipping in 14.5 points/game.

CJ McCollum and Larry Nance Jr. were solid midseason additions last year that could payoff this season.

The competition in the Western Conference is going to be tough next season. But if a few things go their way, there is a chance the Pelicans will win the West and make it to the NBA Finals. Can they win it all, though? If they make it that far– absolutely.

BetMGM has the Pelicans listed at +4000 to win the 2022-23 NBA Finals, which gives them an implied probability of 2.44%.
